Is Silk Pro suitable for all skin and hair colors?

Silk Pro IPL is not suitable for all skin tones and hair types. Find out which skin tones and hair types the Silk Pro IPL is suitable for below.

During IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment, the energy of the light is absorbed by the melanin (a type of pigment) in the hair. Since light blonde, gray and white hair contains no or not enough melanin, IPL treatment does not work on these hair colors. Red hair contains a different type of melanin that also does not respond to IPL.

Silk Pro IPL is also not suitable for naturally dark skin tones as the device can cause skin damage such as: Burns, blisters or discoloration.

None of the Silk Pro models are suitable for use with light blonde, white, grey or red hair.
